Work Singapore is here to serve you. Are you looking for work? Singapore is where you want to be. Work in Singapore is easier to come by nowadays in view of the turnaround in the economy and the healthy economic outlook. The economy has been restored to pre-recession output levels. The Singapore economy grew 13.1 percent in the first quarter of 2010 and the labour market is tight.  So employers are hiring again.

At the May Day rally, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that more than 100,000 new jobs will be created this year, if the economy grows by 7 to 9 per cent as forecast. Last year the number of jobs created was 37,600.

Some of the jobs will have to be filled by foreigners on work and employment passes. However, in the longer term Singapore will cut back its reliance on foreign manpower. It will have to put more
